Why I think this course is exactly what you need
The whole reason I saw a need for this course was because I know so many photographers that don’t offer albums to clients, for many reasons. Whether you feel like you wouldn’t even know where to begin, like you don’t have enough time, or like you are just not a salesperson, this workshop will provide solutions that are realistic and practical for the working photographer.
Design is an integral part of what we do as photographers, sometimes we just need to add a few skills to create something we can sell. This course is committed to making sure you leave with a solid understanding of design and how to curate layouts that you will be proud to implement in your own business. I share all my knowledge of sales and how to make sure every single on of your clients in ordering an album. I’m looking to give you a foundation for which you can evolve the album aspects of your business and be able to give your clients the most important thing from their special life moments… tangible memories.
A little background on me
With a passion for photography and the visual arts, I pursued a degree at Ryerson University in their BFA of New Media Design. Throughout my time at Ryerson and my tenure at Gallery 44 in downtown Toronto, I gained hands-on experience designing websites, researching experience design and curating mixed-media and photography art exhibitions. With my knowledge of art history and the influences of experiential design and story-telling, I have fine-tuned my process of curating image galleries and presenting them in a way that stays true to the narrative.
I have been shooting weddings for 5 years and a core philosophy of mine has always been to include albums in all of my packages. With the fast-paced changes in technology it has become rare to provide physical forms of photographs but also increasingly important. I put my heart and my head into all my designs, always with the end product in mind.
THE RESOURCE LIBRARY
The resource library includes free content and worksheets that can help you get started with albums today.
“I have never offered any sort of print materials as a part of my services because I found them intimidating. I went to college for photography, but we never really talked about integrating print materials into our business in a way that made sense to me. Seeing Ryanne's work, I felt like her experience would be applicable to my clientele and where I want to go with my business, and I was right. Ryanne presented the material in a way that made it seem way less scary, and showed book design for the art it is, instead of just being an additional money-making-service we can offer as professionals. This workshop made me excited to take this information and try to apply it into my business, to level up from just offering digitals to creating long-lasting art that clients can love for years to come. I appreciate how engaging, funny, and enjoyable she made the workshop, and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to learn more about book curation and the business in general!” - Ashley Smith
