Private Residence Wedding in Palm Springs, California

Some weddings are loud and packed to the brim. This one was the opposite in the best way possible. Just immediate family, a couple close friends, and one very cute dog—all gathered under the Palm Springs sun for a wedding that felt like it was exactly what it needed to be: simple, warm, and personal.

They held the ceremony in a family friend’s backyard, tucked against the mountains with a view that didn’t need much decorating. It was quiet and beautiful, with light filtering through the desert blooms. The couple stood surrounded by palm trees, with their closest friends and immediate family as witnesses.

After heartfelt vows and a few joyful tears, the groom took the wheel of his dad’s vintage red car—top down, sun blazing—and the couple drove off through the palm-lined streets of downtown Palm Springs. Locals waved, strangers cheered, and even their family drove by with celebratory honks. One of those moments that felt like a movie, but in the most real, unpolished way.

Dinner was at the groom’s family home that oozed mid century aesthetic and vibes, where they set up a long table in the backyard. It was candlelit and intimate, the serenity of the yard accompanied by the silhouette of the palm trees against the colourful sunset. You could feel how relaxed everyone was, how natural it all felt. No strict timeline, no pressure— it felt more like a slow Sunday gathering than a formal reception—which is exactly how they wanted it. No fuss, just good food, strong drinks, and the people who’ve loved them the longest, not to mention, their beloved dog, looking dapper in a little bowtie, trotting around the backyard like he knew he was the star of the show.

Weddings don’t have to be big to be meaningful. This one was proof that sometimes, the smaller it is, the more room there is for everything that matters.

Enjoy reliving this Palm Springs wedding through the eye of my film cameras :)
